Hello everyone!
This year has truly been a difficult one for each of us. With the COVID-19 rage, cyclones in, locust attacks, 2020, has been so far, one hell of a year , that will be etched in our minds forever. As citizens across the world went through a long lockdown at their homes, they realised a lot of things. Firstly, we all have slowed down a bit, taken some deep breaths ourselves, relinquished our old sad memories with our friends, families, revived our almost failed relationships with our parents, siblings, partners, friends and in the process allowed our nature to breathe freely for a while. Secondly, we saw the nature flourishing so well, with animals happily coming back onto the streets and the beaches, birds singing more often, the air and water polluted less due to reduced emissions from the industries. Lastly, with the advent of the news of the deaths of lakhs of people, seeping in through social media, we have started valuing our lives even more. Time is the most valuable entity on the Earth and truth be told, very less time is left for us to revert back the inflicted damage , we all have caused to our home planet, the Earth. In this little time we got, we need to work on ourselves , be better human beings, and come together united , to change the world for the better, by conserving our nature-the forests, the grasslands, the wetlands, the natural terrestrial, aquatic habitats, thereby protecting our flora and fauna. This is my first blog about the new life that we all are going to embrace from now on, with renewed energy, while wearing masks, gloves and working, as we move ahead. The pandemic and the natural calamities, we faced this year, hopefully will instill in us, the ability to use our time efficiently to bring a difference to the society and to our environment through our collective efforts and individual good work. In my case, it would be doing my research well and contributing towards conserving our nature. May humanity prevail while coexisting with other organisms on the Earth!
